Hot rolled steel coil (HRC) is rolled at high temperature and is the most economical flat steel for structural work, pipe and tube making and general fabrication. Product Overview
Hot rolled coil has a mill-scale (black) surface. It is also available pickled and oiled (HRPO) for a cleaner surface and better paint adhesion. HRC is the starting material for welded pipes, cold-formed sections and plates.
Coils can be supplied as full coils, slit strip or cut-to-length sheet and plate; slitting, leveling and cutting are part of our processing services. Contact us for available sizes and processing limits.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between HRC and HRPO?
HRPO is hot rolled coil that has been pickled to remove the mill scale and then oiled. It has a cleaner surface for painting and forming.
Is SS400 the same as Q235B or A36?
They are commonly treated as close equivalents for general structural use, but their mechanical properties differ slightly. Check the relevant standard for critical applications.
Can hot rolled coil be supplied as cut sheet or plate?
Yes. Hot rolled coil can be leveled and cut to length into sheet or plate. Contact us for available sizes.
